So my Geography of the Middle East Professor handed out blank maps of the Middle East so we could project our own “mental maps” onto them. While I was busily drawing boxes and writing names in them I looked over and saw the girl’s next to me was blank. “You really can’t put anything on there?” I inquired. To which she blithely replied “I really don’t know. I’m an education major.
I am convinced that there is this climate of “I’m an education major-ness” permeating Rowan’s Education Program. I have met one too many  education majors that use their major as an excuse for ignorance. It is terrifying. Isn’t the Praxis supposed to weed these types out? I could seriously write an entire essay about this dangerous climate but I have other things to write about, like SlutWalks. But seriously, I need to choke slam some knowledge into these soon to be kindergarten teachers for the sake of the children. The children.
